Kaua`i, O`ahu, Lana`i, Maui, Hawai`i. First collected Cultivated material on O'ahu in 1890 (Brigham s.n., BISH).

In Hawai`i cultivated and found in similar situations as T. grandiflora on Kaua`i and O`ahu

Leaves broadly elliptic to narrowly ovate, 8-15 cm long, 2.5-5.5 cm wide, margins entire.
Flowers
Flowers often in pendent inflorescences, each one subtended by ovate bracts 25-40 mm long; calyx reduced to a truncate, ring like structure; corolla pale blue with a white or pale yellow throat.
