DistributionNative to eastern and southern Australia.In the Hawaiian Islands, naturalized on Midway, Kaua`i, O`ahu, Moloka`i, Lana`i, Maui, Kaho`olawe, Hawai`i.















Habit
Trees usually 15-18 m tall; branches long, coarse, usually glaucous.
Leaves
Leaf sheaths with 9-18 teeth. Male spikes densely flowered, ca. 2.5 cm long, bracts pubescent, especially at base.
Flowers
Cones subglobose, flat-topped, ca. 0.7-1.3 cm in diameter, the valves prominent, protruding ca. 1-1.5 mm, pubescent, apex obtuse.
Fruit
Nuts ca. 4.7-5 mm long (incl. wing).
