sparsely appressed pubescent on midrib and secondary nerves, domatia present as depressions in axils of secondary nerves, apex acute to acuminate, base obtuse to rounded, subcordate, or rarely acute, petioles 5-15 mm long, stipules deltate to lanceolate, valvate in bud, 3-5 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, abruptly acuminate, upper surface villous, lower surface appressed sericeous.

Flowers perfect or functionally unisexual, 4(5)-merous; staminate and perfect flowers 3-7 in cymes, peduncles 6-25 mm long, ca. 1 mm wide, calyx limb cupular, broadly lobed, the tubular portion 2-3 mm long, pubescent, the lobes foliaceous, imbricate, often reflexed, often unequal, 2-6 mm long, 2-7 mm wide, obtuse to broadly rounded, pubescent, corolla salverform, the tube 5-11 mm long, 1.2-2 mm wide, appressed pubescent externally, subglabrous within, the lobes ovate, ca. 3 mm long and wide, obtuse, stamens inserted below corolla throat, anthers sessile, ca. 3.5 mm long, ca. 0.5 mm wide, ovary usually abortive, up to 3 mm long, 2-3-celled, style subterete, 3-4.5 mm long, appressed strigillose, stigmas 2-3, equal or unequal, ca. 0.6 mm long; pistillate flowers solitary or rarely 2-3 in cymes, peduncles 8-20(-35) mm long, calyx limb as in staminate flowers, corolla salverform, the tube 5-7 mm long, up to 1.5 mm wide, staminodia subsessile, ca. 1.5 mm long, ca. 0.5 mm wide, ovary up to 3.5 mm long, 5-6-celled, style 4-7 mm long, densely pubescent, stigmas 5-6, linear, slightly unequal, 1.3-2.5 mm long, exserted.
