Note: Not validly published. W. C. Gagné 671 (BISH! [2]) was cited as the type collection for this name and in the same publication it was cited again as the type collection for S. microcarpus var. kealiaensis, therefore neither name is validly published under ICBN Art. 34.2 (Greuter et. al., 1994). Telford included S. erostratus var. kealiaensis in S. erostratus.
