Note: Additional syntypes: Piihonua gulch, back of Hilo, February 1916, Rock 12625 (BISH!), Rock 12626 (BISH! [2]), Rock 12628 (BISH!) (all collected by M. Newell); Piihonua gulch, 24 April 1916, Rock 12633 (BISH! [2]); Rainbow Falls, back of Hilo, 24 April 1916, Rock 12634 (BISH!). The lectotype has Rock's name as collector, but on the labels of 12625, 12626, and 12628 he crossed off his name and wrote M. Newell's name as collector. The BISH sheet of the Rainbow Falls collection has no collection number, but should be considered a syntype because the date and locality are the same; the BISH sheet of one of Rock's collections from Piihonua gulch has no number and no date (though a label with 24 april was added later) and should be considered a probable syntype.
