Lectotype [B]. Isolectotype(s) [BISH!, MEL [photo BISH]]. Lectotypified in Fosberg. Bernice P. Bishop Mus. Bull. 174: 45. 1943.

Note: Fosberg effectively lectotypified. BISH sheet has neither date nor collector on label, and give locality as Haleakala, whereas Hillebrand give locality as "E. Maui! at heights of about 4000 ft."
