Kadua cookiana Cham. & Schltdl. var. elatior H. Mann, Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 7: 172 1867.
Kaua`i, Hanalei. 1864- 1865. Mann and Brigham 569.
Holotype [CU]. Isotype(s) [BISH! [2], GH, K, MO!, US, YU].

Note: Mann (1867) cites Kaua`i and Moloka`i as the only localities for Kadua cookiana var. elatior, and cites only one collection, "M. & B. 569." Our interpretation of the labels is that the Moloka`i collection was by Brigham, and the Kaua`i collection was by Mann and Brigham.
