Note: BISH sheet annotated by St. John "apparent isotype" is not considered an isotype by WLW. Sherff did not cite a BISH sheet and his locality citation is slightly different from that on the specimen label ("vicinity of Kilauea"). The specimen does not fit the description given in the protologue, and appears to be a mixed collection (at least from different plants, even if from plants of the same species).
