Solanum honopuense H. St. John , Phytologia 64: 170. 1988.
Type information:
Holotype [BISH]. C.N. Forbes 1081.K. 7-18 July-August 1917. Kaua`i: Kalalau Trail [and down left hand ridge looking into Honopu].

Note: St. John did not annotate the holotype, so it is impossible to know whether or not he considered both sheets to be the holotype; he clearly saw both sheets, as he annotated them both for locality data. Also published superfluously in St. John, June 1988, Native Hawaiian Species of Solanum (Solanaceae), Hawaiian Plant Studies 82. Publ. priv., 27 pgs.
