Note: Renamed P. stonei Deg. & Deg., Phytologia 19: 315. 1970. This name is superfluous. According to the Degeners, P. kauaensis is an orthographic variant of P. kauaiensis; however, as the two names are based on two different places, Kaua`i and Kaua, they are not variants of a single name.
