Note: Sherff indicated that Gray had two collections available the one he selected as the lectotype and Rémy 276 (GH, P), with the material of both collections mounted on the same sheet at GH. Gardner (1979) lectotypified the same specimen as effectively done already by Sherff. St. John (1985) erroneously cited the US sheet as Sherff's lectotype.
