Kadua grandis A. Gray f. pubituba Skottsb., . . Flora of the Hawaiian Islands --Basionym
Type Information

*Verification: None.

Kadua grandis A. Gray , Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 4: 318. 1859 [Sept].
Type information:
Lectotype [GH]. Rémy 390. 1840. Hawai`i: s.l..
Lectotypified in Fosberg. Bernice P. Bishop Mus. Bull. 174: 90. 1943. Isolectotype(s) [L [?]].

Note: Gray cited no specimens, but Fosberg considered the Remy specimen to be original material; he apparently only saw two specimens that Gray applied this name to, and his citation of Remy specimen is effectively a lectotypification. St. John's lectotypification is superfluous, in addition to which he implied that there are two U.S. Expl. Exped. collections at US when in fact there is only one. Fosberg indicated that the number on the label of the GH sheet was not clear; he later (Brittonia 8: 171, 1956) commented on a Remy 350 at L that he said is probably a duplicate of the lectotype.
