Note: Only part of this collection is type for this entity (Sherff stated that one sheet of this collection was typical for var. pentamera, but that the rest belonged to his f. filiformis). Both BISH sheets are ex herb. Degener. Degener apparently used this collection number at least twice, because the US sheet of Degener 2177 is Cyperus trachysanthus, collected on Kaua`i, 12 June 1926.
