General Information
DistributionNative to southeastern Asia, now a pantropical weed.In the Hawaiian Islands, naturalized on Kaua`i, O`ahu, Moloka`i, Lana`i, Maui, Hawai`i.
















Habit
Subscapose annual herbs 1-9 dm tall, glabrous or pubescent toward base.
Leaves
Leaves basal or rarely a few cauline, lyrate-pinnatifid or oblanceolate and ± lobed, 2-22 cm long, 0.5-5 cm wide.
Flowers
Heads small, numerous in corymbose or paniculate inflorescences; involucre 3.5-5 mm high, glabrous, inner bracts ca. 8, outer ones ca. 5; ray florets 10-20 per head, rays 3-4 mm long.
Fruit
Achenes brownish, 1.5-2.5 mm long, somewhat compressed, tapering at apex, but scarcely beaked.
