Habit
Perennial herb; stems prostrate, 4-20 dm long, rooting at nodes.
Leaves
Leaves simple, petiolate; blade oblong to spatulate, (0.4–)0.8–3.0 cm long, (0.2-)0.4-1.5 cm wide, thick, fleshy, both surfaces densely strigillose, margin entire to scarcely serrate; petioles 0.2-1 cm long with winged margin.
Flowers
Heads solitary or in clusters of 2-3; outer involucral bracts ovate to oblong, 3-3.6 mm long, 1.6-2.3 mm wide, strigillose, apex rounded; chaffy bracts tan throughout; ray florets (4-)8-10 per head, rays ovate to oblong, 3.3-5.1 mm long, 2.5-4.3 mm wide; disk florets (25-)30-50 per head, (2.4-)2.7-3.6 mm long, anthers (1.2-)1.4-1.6 mm long; pappus of short, deciduous awns.
Fruit
Achenes nearly smooth, wingless; ray achenes 2-2.5 mm long, 1.9-2.7 mm wide; disk achenes 2.4-3 mm long, 1.7-2.7 wide.
