Habit
Shrubs 0.5-1(-1.5) m tall.
Leaves
Leaves oblanceolate, 3-7 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, glabrous, margins slightly toothed on distal 1/2, apex broadly acute, base acuminate, petioles up to 1 cm long.
Flowers
Flowers very fragrant, solitary or rarely 2-3 in cymes up to 30 mm long, peduncles 2-15 mm long, with paired oblanceolate bracteoles ca. 10 mm long subtending the pedicels; calyx minute; corolla brownish yellow or rarely pinkish, the tube 10-15 mm long, the lobes lanceolate, 8-10 mm long, margins not winged; stamens ± as long as corolla tube; style 18-20 mm long.
Fruit
Fruit dark purplish black, ovoid, 5-6 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, glabrous or sparsely pubescent.
