Fronds 5-20 x 0.5-1.4 cm, clustered at rhizome apexes, spreading; stipe 1-6 cm long, mostly 1/15-1/3 frond length, dark brown, blending into blade, scaly at very base, very hairy with black (often appearing red and translucent on living plants), needlelike hairs; blade broadly linear, wider in middle, tapering at tip and base, narrowing gradually to stipe, subcoriaceous, margin entire, very hairy, hairs abundant, stiff, black, needle-shaped, mostly 1-3 mm long. |
