Habit
Slender shrubs; stems 3-10 cm long, many-branched, subglabrous.
Leaves
Leaves opposite, sometimes becoming alternate on rapidly growing branches, oblong to oblong-elliptic, 7-33 mm long, 2-14 mm wide, apex obtuse, base rounded to truncate, subsessile.
Flowers
Flowers solitary in the leaf axils; floral tube green, 5-8 mm long, glabrous; calyx teeth broadly ovate, mucronate, appendages slender, exceeding the calyx teeth; petals purple, ca. 4 mm long; stamens 6, slightly exserted beyond floral tube; style exserted beyond floral tube.
Fruit
Capsules ellipsoid, ca. 3.5 mm long.
Seeds
Seeds numerous, reddish brown, angled, ca. 0.5 mm long.
