Habit
Small polygamous trees or sometimes shrubs (1.5-)2-5(-7) m tall; stems green, densely branched toward the tips, these stiff and erect.
Leaves
Leaves primarily scale-like, but sometimes a few foliaceous ones present, the latter type narrowly to broadly elliptic or obovate, (30-)38-60(-75) mm long, 16-30(-40) mm wide, base attenuate, sessile.
Flowers
Petals 4-5(6), green to yellowish green, 0.5-1 mm long.
Fruit
Drupes green to greenish yellow at maturity, ellipsoid, 8-10(-11) mm long, the exposed portion above the receptacle 5-7 mm long, apex rounded and with a small terminal beak or 3 inconspicuous indentations, partially embedded in a bright red, fleshy receptacle.
