Habit
Unbranched or sparingly branched shrubs 1-6 m tall.
Leaves
Leaves oblanceolate to oblong, blades 10-27 cm long, 2-6 cm wide, upper surface green, glabrous or sparsely pubescent, lower surface pubescent to subglabrous, margins minutely callose-denticulate to callose-serrulate, apex acuminate, base attenuate to obtuse, petioles 2.5-6 cm long.
Flowers
Inflorescences 5-12-flowered, pubescent, peduncles 10-40 mm long, pedicels 6-15 mm long; hypanthium obconical to obovoid, 6-11 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, pubescent; calyx lobes narrowly triangular, 1-3 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, apex acuminate; corolla white to pale purplish with purple longitudinal stripes, 30-40 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, densely pubescent, the tube suberect, the lobes spreading; staminal column glabrous; anthers minutely and sparsely pubescent, the lower 2 with apical tufts of white hairs.
Fruit
Berries orange, globose to obovoid, 10-16 mm long, 6-9 mm wide.
