Habit
Unbranched or sparingly branched shrubs 1-5 m tall, with yellow latex.
Leaves
Leaves oblanceolate to obovate, blades 32-80 cm long, 5-13 cm wide, upper surface green, glabrous, lower surface pale green, pubescent, margins minutely callose-denticulate, apex acuminate to acute, base attenuate, narrowing imperceptibly into a winged petiole 0.5-4 cm long.
Flowers
Inflorescences 8-20-flowered, pubescent, peduncles 20-60 mm long, pedicels 8-20 mm long; hypanthium obconical to obovoid, 6-10 mm long, 4-6 mm wide, pubescent; calyx lobes triangular to narrowly triangular, 3-16 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, apex acute to acuminate; corolla white or pale lilac, longitudinally striped with purple, 25-35 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, densely pubescent, the tube gently curved, the lobes spreading; staminal column glabrous; anthers minutely papillose, the lower 2 with apical tufts of white hairs.
Fruit
Berries reddish orange, broadly obovoid, 13-20 mm long, 10-15 mm wide.
